The quietest and most expensive use metal reinforced rubber belts. Screw drive versions are the most powerful and dependable and the quality models are as quiet as belt drive versions.

Your Garage Door opener will almost always operate by remote control from your Vehicle, which means you do not have to get out in the rain or the dark to open the Door. It is usual to also have an exterior keypad for when the remote control is not available and a push button inside the Garage. Most controls now use rolling codes which make it impossible for someone to 'scan' your code or open your Garage Door using a universal remote. It is also standard pratice to have your lights operated by the controller and also have a remote indicator inside the House that can tell you if the Garage Door is opened or closed.
